Toldboden at Strandgade is Kertemindes exhibition hall. Here the museum exhibits its culture historical special exhibitions, alternating with different exhibitions arranged by Kerteminde Art Association. Regardless of time of year you will find exciting exhibitions at Toldboden.

An exciting building

Toldboden is one of the oldest buildings in Kerteminde, and it itself tells an essential piece of the towns history. The building is from about 1590 and erected by one of the many traders from Odense, who used Kerteminde as seaport. During the war against Sweden the building was destroyed and lay as a ruin in the years from 1959 until 1735 (the year on the façade). In 1735 it was rebuild in its present figure. From 1848 until 1970 the building contained Kerteminde Custom House.
